Christmas Shopping!

We had our first Christmas Shopping Evening in our new premises last week and it definitely  won’t be the last! Although it was pretty brisk outside, lots of our lovely customers braved the cold and dark to peruse our special offers and to share a glass or two or something festive, with a homemade mince pie, (or three in my case). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Next Friday (7th December) is the Corsham Christmas Lights Switch-on. From 5-7pm, Corsham’s incomparably beautiful High Street will be thronged with festive merry-makers, on their way to see Father Christmas and his real life reindeer – not to mention the delightful illuminations. Previous is fully stocked with goodies and will be open the whole time, as will our new cafe, serving locally roasted coffee, Iford Manor teas, Zuma hot chocolate and spiced chai. We will have our usual array of home-baked cakes, as well as mini mince-pies, salted caramel hot choc and gingerbread latte. We are looking forward to welcoming you!

What’s New at Previous?

We’ve been pretty busy at Previous, moving to our huge new premises and now that we’re all settled in, we are planning our next venture –  to open a cafe upstairs. We will be serving Ottolenghi inspired home-made cakes and treats, made where possible from home-grown ingredients, together with the best coffee and other drinks. We spent the last weekend constructing our fab new counter and are testing recipes, which is obviously really hard work, but someone has to…we’ll keep you updated with progress and an opening date for it, as soon as poss.

Also, we are thrilled to announce that BBC presenter Paul Martin has now taken over our lovely old premises across the High Street and will be opening as ‘The Table Gallery’ before long. It’s undergoing a make-over at the moment, so watch this space..

We Have Moved!

It’s been a long wait, but we have finally settled in to our new premises and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Just across the road from our last shop, at 51-53 in Corsham’s exceptionally beautiful High Street, we are resplendent in an almost-detached, listed building, about a hundred feet deep on two floors – we hardly know ourselves! We have about ten times the amount of space as before, with dedicated departments for man-gifts, toys, stationary and jewellery, as well as a lovely double-height room just for womenswear and accessories, with a changing room made from a 1950s folding hospital screen, recovered in vintage tickings. Upstairs we have our homewares department and we’ll soon be opening our own cafe, so you can relax, meet friends and enjoy excellent coffee and home-made cakes.

We can now sell a wider range of vintage items, and all furniture is for sale, but we have also expanded our ranges of unusual gifts and clothing, all at unbeatable prices – with new labels such as: Loqi bags, Caran D’Ache pens, Chalk UK womenswear, Ania Haie jewellery and Rice homewares. Our friendly team has also grown and we continue to offer the high levels of customer service for which we are known. Come and see us soon – if you’re not familiar with Corsham, we’re more than happy to give recommendations for places to eat and things to see.
