I was quite excited by the prospect of my first overnight ferry cabin, (I’ve never been on a cruise!) and I must say I was quite charmed. We arrived en France early in the morning after a pretty good night’s sleep and by coffee time were firmly installed outside a half-timbered cafe in the sunshine.

We set off for our hotel in Southern Normandy, screeching to a halt every time we saw a ‘Brocante’ sign. Mostly these are either piled high with junk, or wincingly expensive, but we rootled long and ¬†hard and gradually filled the car to the gunnels over a few days. Naturally, we felt impelled to sample French cuisine as we went and can report that standards are still very high on the whole.

We had some lovely weather and even managed a dip in the pool, visited some beautiful towns and villages and squeezed a few bottles of wine into any little gaps. Now we’re back and there are some gorgeous French antiques in Previous! Not to mention lots of amazing new stock for Autumn.

Don’t forget the Corsham Street Fair 12-4 on Saturday 16th September – there’ll be stalls, music, a little zoo, circus skills and lots more, plus FREE PARKING all day. Pop in to Previous and say hello!
